Back in September I started www.BloggingInAmerica.com. My main reason for starting it was because I was blogging on a mainly Australian blogging network. There were many others that were also living in America, and blogging on the same network, Orble.com. My original thinking was to setup a place for all the Americans on the network to have their writing showcased, so those interested in American type topics could easily find them.
Shortly after I started the site I realized it doesn’t matter where you are from – most topics can interest you on some level. Even some things that you would think are more localized than anything, like politics for example.
Basically I wrote some of my own posts and included posts from the members of the site in “Spotlight Posts.” The spotlight post basically gave a short excerpt of the story, and image, the author, and a link to both their main site and the post itself. In the end I think I have wound up with more Australian writers than American.
So there is the story of Blogging In America. That above fact that geography doesn’t matter much at all gave me an even bigger idea. That idea is the blogging network you are on at the moment – WorldBlogosphere.com . A long with BloggingInAmerica.com’s new “sister site” BloggingInAmerica.net.
While I am still very busy with setting up the main site and fixing many bugs along the way, I figured I will start off this site with sharing some of my favorite posts from BloggingInAmerica.com.
The first of my favorite posts will be up later on today. So stop back in the early evening to read the first post over here on Blogging In America.net
