Judge Allows 9 Year Old New Zealand Girl to Change Name

We may have just found the worst legal name for a person EVER!

In Wellington, New Zealand Judge Rob Murfitt is allowing a nine year old girl to change her name. He commented, “The court is profoundly conderned about the very poor judgement which this child’s parents have shown in choosing this name. It makes a fool of the child and sets her up with a social disability and handicap, unnecessarily.”

The girls lawyer, Colleen MacLeod had said the little girl was so embarrassed by her name that she would tell people to just call her, “K.”

Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii

Someone is going to have to share this story with poor little Dixon and Willoughby Partlin when he or she is teased for the hundredth time over their name.

The girl formerly known as Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii’s name was not released for sake of her privacy, but we can rest assured that it is much better than her original name.

Judge Murfitt listed some other unusual names in his ruling, they included; “Fish and Chips”, “Yeah Detroit”, “Keenan Got Lucy”, and “Sex Fruit.” Brian Clarke, the registrar general of Births, Deaths and Marriages in New Zealand said that “New Zealand law does not allow names that would cause offense to a reasonable person, among other conditions.”
